Tax-Free childcare - HELP! :)

Hi there,

I'm hoping someone can help us with a question on the tax-free childcare scheme from the government.

We are eligible and are looking to getting an ofsted registered nanny for our 3 children (Twins 9 months and Eldest 5yrs old)

When our 1st child went to school we continued paying into the childcare vouchers scheme and have saved £3000 worth of vouchers.

Now we are looking at a nanny to look after our twins full time, then collect our daughter from School and have her in the afternoons/school holidays,

The question is, if we stop paying into the childcare voucher scheme, and enrolled in the tax-free childcare scheme, is it possible to pay the nanny using our saved childcare vouchers (already accrued) as well as using the Tax-free childcare scheme? (We would only be drawing down on already saved childcare vouchers and not claiming any new ones)

Any help that could be provided in answering this query would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Chris

If the nanny is Ofsted registered, then they *should* be able to accept the childcare vouchers.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Yes you can spend already accrued vouchers while on the tax-free scheme. You just can't accrue any more.

Whether your nanny accepts them is a commercial decision for him/her to make. You would need to stipulate that as part of your contract.
