CE mark on new Mattress

Should a brand new adult sized mattress (bought from a "proper" shop) have a CE mark on the label ?
We recently bought a replacement 12" thick one - and I can't see any mark on it !!

As far as I know, No. Mattresses do not require a CE mark.

Any bed or mattress sold in the UK must meet certain fire resistance criteria (laid down in BS 7177) and must be correctly labelled to show that this is the case.
If beds or mattresses doesn't have this label then it is illegal for a business to supply them.
