I have just spoken to Virgin Media who we have our landline and broadband with and arranged to pay our line rental up front to save money. Instead of £19 per month which equates to £228 over the year I have paid £196 upfront to save £32 over the year. Does anyone else do this?

Many people do it. However note its not refundable if you wish to leave early.
EG. If they put price up which gives you a window of opportunity to leave penalty free. You lose any balance not used.
