The other cheaper option rather than registering with CIFAS, get all three credit reports at the cost of £6.00. - Experian , Call Credit and Equifax
Then ask the to add a "notice of correction" and say you have been a victim of Fraud and before approving new credit ask them to confirm a password , you tell them the password.
The notice if correction remains on file until you tell them to remove it and this could be indefinite.
You might ask why do this , as the same with CIFAS - they won't be able to approve any application until they confirm the password with you first.
This stops most fraudest in their track, and gives you peace of mind.
Lenders are legally obligated to check your NOTICE OF Correction, so save yourself £14 recurring payment for CIFAS0 -
No it's not normal. You are possibly being careless with your personal information.
It almost defies belief that a neighbour would take out pet insurance in your name. Have you checked to see who actually owns little Tom or Fido and challenged them about it? What would be the point of such an act? If they are paying the premiums themselves then why? If they had somehow arranged for you to pay the premiums then you would find out before they could possibly make any claim.
Same for utility bills. If they are paying the bills themselves then why? If they had somehow arranged for you to pay the bills then would find out pretty quickly, assuming you are not one of those people who only check their bank statements once every leap year.
As for the credit card, they could not possibly have known what the credit limit would be before applying or that you are a high earner with big limits on your cards unless you have been bragging to the whole street about it. Furthermore, HOW did they manage to get your post redirected? Royal mail redirection requires ID and also would apply to ALL post, not just this one item. It also takes a short time to set up. How could they have been sure it would have been set up in time? And, surely you would have noticed if you suddenly stopped getting any post and surely the occupants of the house in question would have very quickly noticed if they were getting redirected post for you, unless they were themselves the culprits.0 -
Are you a director of a company registered at Companies house? That's how fraudster got enough info to open 3 online mail accounts in my daughter's name. Companies House shows name, address and date of birth.
It can happen to anyone, even if you are very savvy. these fraudsters are getting more and more clever. Banks don't help with their lax security on people changing addresses to use yours. It can be done online without any proof of new address.0 -

No, not at all, and never have been. Worked for the same large company for almost 20 years, like to think I'm pretty security conscious/savvy -
Its almost more like a mix up where my name gets put onto other peoples bills/accounts, rather than someone trying to get money out in my name (apart from the Virgin CC that was intercepted). Strange...0 -
Any clues in the correspondence from more than? Pet name? anything else?0
