An Idea to fight back private PCN's

Hi all,

I was wondering if we can get volunteering solicitors to represent people who get those PCN.

I guess if those car park companies get the same solicitor name(s) representing and appealing against lots of their tickets, things might change, they will see a seriousness in fighting back this scam.

What do you think?

This is a rather specialised area of Law and few solicitors have the expertise of some of the regulars have here and on ppp.

Why not repost on Legal Beagles?

All the expertise needed to fight and win against the PPCs and the lawyers they send to represent them in court is here on the forums.

A forum assisted defendant will nearly always succeed, whether at popla or in court.

The problem is not that we need solicitors to write appeals but that the industry is self regulated, which basically means 'unregulated' so the public is not protected against the unscrupulous and nefarious tactics employed by the PPCs.

They lie, threaten, intimidate and even ruin lives by fraudulently obtaining default CCJs - just so they can get their pound of flesh.... And for what? Someone who might have gone a few mins over their time because they were inadvertently held up, or someone who paid in good faith but typed a 'o' instead of a '0' into the machine.

If there was a proper govt appointed ombudsman service investigating, challenging and taking action against these disgraceful practices then that would be a game changer. I also believe it would lead to changes in the law which is ultimately what's needed.

The other problem is that, according to something I read recently, the PPCs only need 1 in 5 of their PCNs to be paid in order to turn a profit, and, because of their threatening tactics a much higher rate than that actually get paid. Usually because people are scared, believe the false threats or just can't be bothered/ don't have the time to fight back.

If we could change that ratio then we could hurt the PPCs more, but in general, people are very busy and easily intimidated

Not many Solicitors do owt for nowt!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
