Good and cheap car for 17 year old

My youngest has passed his driving test today and now he is looking for a cheap car to run.

He's narrowed it down to:

Audi S3
Golf R
BMW M135i

Any other cars worth considering in this price range?

    I'd suggest a Porsche. I looked to insure my son on mine and it was only £6000. Seems quite a bargain when they wouldn't even quote for a lesser car
