We are on our third Panda, it's a wee tardis.
As opposed to the vast majority of these SUV/4x4s, which I like to refer to as a retardis, much smaller on the inside than the outside would suggest. :rotfl:“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

If all that mattered about a car was efficient packaging, we'd all be driving around in Austin Maxis.0 -
Kia Sportage seem very popular plus 7 year warranty is industry leading and gives good peace of mind.
Nissan Xtrail I had as a rental in the Outback! Was excellent!0 -

Yep, and the old maxi was a pretty good snow car, too! Gearboxes and build quality apart, they were a pretty good all-rounder and the twin carb 1750 could fairly shift, by the standards of the time (but pinked horribly unless it was on five star petrol). Shame that Issigoni's final car wasn't built by a better company.0 -

Friend of mine had issues with his 2 year old Cee'd and when he delved into the Ts and Cs of his warranty he found it barely covered anything of use... not sure if that was his frustration at his particular problem or genuinely a case having never seen the detail myself0 -

Had absolutely no problems with any warranty issues with our car, including a failed clutch at just over 3 years old.0 -
Thank you for all your replies and suggestions. Its so great having such a good knowledgeable community to turn to for things like this :-)
We are going to test drive the Kia Sportage and the Nissan XTrail hopefully next weekend.
I've taken on board what people have said about winter tyres, not something I've really looked into in the past but know my dad has them fitted to his car each winter (they live in Scotland too)
Thanks again!0
