I accepted a property but landlord put me to the bottom of the pile

I was unable to decide all week and today when I made the decision for one of the properties the agents got back to me and said that the landlord wants to let the other booked viewings see the property first.

Im sure it is because I need a garantaur and he thinks I am not of good moral fibre.

The irony is this property isn't as good as the other one. I took it due to being more central since I don't know the new place Im going so i thought the more central location would be the better option to suss the place out.

Should I take the other better place which is further out? There was very little in it between the properties and if only one were available I would have taken either it is just the choice that messed my mind up since I couldnt pick a clear winner. The more central one is a bit less nice but felt safer being well in the centre not having to walk anywhere at night (Im only guessing they could both be very safe walking but just going on what little info I have).

The other one is much nicer area and the flat wins but some roughish areas close by which made me hesistant to pick it; though I have since been told by locals that it is very quiet and nothing to be concerned about. But if the landlord I accepted with thinks I am dross should I just go with the other one now.

I have to wait to hear back from them but wondering if I should take the other one and forget about that one because I don't want to be left hanging and lose both.

The landlord wants someone who can move in as soon as possible and he doesn't want someone who might change their mind at the last moment.

You are still undecided so not a good prospect as a tenant.

I would also look into why you need a guarantor and perhaps provide more rent upfront say 6 months for example

I doubt the landlord gives a fig about your moral fibre, but if you've kept him waiting for a decision all week I'm not surprised he wants to go ahead with other viewings.

It doesn't matter whether you'd be buying or renting, if you sounded all of a dither in real life, like you do in your post, I'd look for someone else.

    Been there with ditherers.....Sorry!

So a good chance of dropping out.

So a good chance of moving on in six months.

I've not viewed either of them, so...

There y'go, then. If you don't get this one, go for the other. That simple!

Must be about 11am before you decide which pair of underwear to put on and what to have for breakfast...

If you're not sure on the areas, visit the area in the late evening / night, to do the proposed commute and walk to the local shops. You'll soon see how safe it feels and whether you'd be happy living there.

Depending on how fast the rental market moves in that area, the LL might find your week of delay / questions too long, and think you're flakey. If the other booked viewings are soon, they may aswell go ahead and weigh up their options even if they have no problem with you.

Since there's not much in it between the two properties, just pick one. Unless both go at exactly the same time, if one LL takes the property off the market you can just go with the other one.
