Unknown money paid into my current account

Hello,

I was checking my current account balance today and a deposit of £82 from "MBNA LTD" was paid in yesterday. I don't own any credit cards, so I am unsure where this is from? Any advice where it could be from or how I could find out?

15 years ago I had an EGG credit card that I paid off and have not used in 10 years. Don't know if it could be related?

It could be a case of someone mistyping a digit. Contact your bank for information.

You could try calling MBNA and asking them if they can provide any info.
You should tell your bank that you don't recognise this deposit, but the amount is not significant and the source is reputable. So long as this remains a one-off and no further deposits appear, I would be tempted to take no action but not spend the money in case return of the funds should be requested.
If further deposits, especially if for large amounts, start to appear report IMMEDIATELY.

Unlikely. EGG credit cards went to Barclaycard.

Hi. I have the same scenario. Different amount, by no idea why... Did you get anywhere with working this out? I haven't had any MBNA issued credit cards for years!
