I own a property that I rent out. I also rent currently. I used to own another hosue but transferred the equity to my ex-wife via a divorce.
If I buy a new house for me to occuoy as my main residence, do I pay SDLT+3%? Any links to confirm your responses please?

Interesting.I have previously spoken to a chartered financial advsier,and accoutant, a mortgage broker and a solictor.
All of them agree thsat the additional sdlt will not apply.

If you've already sought advice and have an answer, why ask on a forum with potentially less 'expert' opinions?
My own view is that you will have to pay it but I have no qualifications to validate that. I hope you find a way to resolve the issue in any case.0 -
