Lloyds Banking Group

Options
In the past week I have successfully applied for the Halifax Clarity and a Bank of Scotland credit card, I requested modest limits of £1000 for each as I don't plan on spending much on them and paying them off in full every month (Halifax for holiday spends and BOS for purchases)

However after reading this forum I'm slightly worried about having these cards as they fall under LBG. I also currently have a Lloyds card with a £3250 limit which I've had for almost 3 years and now pay in full each month (0% on purchases has ended). I've held my main Current account with Lloyds too for 8 years, and I also have car finance through them.

I guess I'm wondering if anyone else has held cards with all three at the same time and if in their opinion this has effected them negatively at all?

Why exactly are you worried and what specific negative effects are you expecting apart from the low credit limits that you have been given?

I'm just wondering if they will lower the limit on my existing Lloyds card I guess, which seems to be a pattern with having more than one card with LBG from what I've read?

    Read where?
If you were concerned why did you apply for so many cards with them; you could have applied elsewhere.
Your overall credit limits with them are pretty low; doubt if they will lower them further.
  • Read on this forum on several threads. This hadn't even crossed my mind until I stumbled across said threads.

Thank you for your thoughts, I was just wondering is there was anyone else in a similar position really.

I have read, on Lloyds own website, that once you have been given a credit limit it is yours to keep so long as you don't miss a payment or exceed your credit limit etc.
I have also held a Lloyds cc for decades and the limit has never been reduced. It hasn't been increased either for over a decade but that's not really the point.

Then they are lying on their website. I never missed a payment, didn't exceed my credit limit etc., and they still decreased my limit, several times. Not that it bothered me, just saying.
