Claiming against two seperate accidents

Hopefully you can see the processes that got involved.
Earlier you told us Zenith knew nothing about the issue when your wife contacted them.
You now want them to write off the vehicle after the first incident.
Which would be the basis for your complaint.
Otherwise you either continue your claims or cancel them and see if you can get another resolution such as repairing yourself if possible via a back street garage and scrap yard parts0 -
At the time of the first contact we had with Zenith, just after the first incident, they were pursuing the claim for liability, but for whatever reason stopped.
They knew nothing about the work Hertz were doing or about the third party admitting liability. As my insurer you'd think they would at least know the third party had admitted liability.
I don't really see the issue here if it goes down as a write off against the first claim, they'll be recovering the costs from the third party insurer anyway.
My point really is, is it worth me pursuing a complaint to the FOS that they should accept that the vehicle was deemed a write-off following the first incident (meaning we wouldn't have to lose £600 and NCD) or is it a lost cause?0 -
The issue is zenith disagree (about it being a write off initially), and presumably the third party do too. ( Otherwise they would have settled rather than pay the credit repair,/credit hire AMC)
Your only route is a complaint, this is always worth a try, but is time consuming and you may need a replacement urgently.
One other thought - if the third party accepted liability and the write off decision made by the AMC, then you could cancel your claims and pursue a settlement with the third party directly.0 -

Thats a point.... I'll consider that. Thank you0 -
What percentage do companies usually consider writing a vehicle off. The van is worth approximately £4500. Damages are in the region of £3800. They're saying they would normally repair at those costs..0

Insurance have paid out on the first claim after getting a manager involved.
He was extremely helpful and apologised because the engineers had tookl none of our evidence in to account. I'm just so relieved because this has been such an ordeal.0
