Mortgage lender asking about solar panel certificate

Quick question - is it normal for a lender to be asking for confirmation of certificates (MCS certificate) for a solar panel installation?
We have a mortgage offer from YBS but are trying to switch it over to a new house (sadly purchase of original house fell through).
However on the house in question the installation was over 15 years ago and the MCS certificate scheme didn't exist until 2008. Furthermore it looks like MCS won't issue any certificates for previous installations pre-dating 2009 (http://www.microgenerationcertification.org/about-us/news-and-events/197-mcscertificatesnotcertified).
Bit worried they are going to come back to us and say no. This is after passing all the credit checks etc so really the final step. By the way there is no loan or anything like that associated with the panels (which are just hot water panels too, no electricity)
Has anyone else had any negative issues with getting a mortgage on a house with a pre-2008 solar installation? There must be a lot of houses out there being sold with solar panels of that age? I guess they haven't indicated there is going to be a problem so maybe I just need to wait and see!
