Premier Parking Solutions

Afternoon,
I have received a PCN from Premier Parking Solutions from Dartmouth Marina and unsure where I stand in paying. I paid for parking and returned to my car well within the allotted time. However, I put into the machine an incorrect car registration. However, I have proof of payment including the receipt and a copy of my bank statement. Surely if I paid for parking, I don't need to pay the charge, as I have no intention of paying it.
Any advice appreciated.
Steve

Please read the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #1 only at this stage. That will give you a basic knowledge base from which to take this forward.
Do a forum search (and Google search) on 'Premier Dartmouth Marina' to see if other cases have appeared on the parking forums and how they progressed.
Have you complained to the landowner and, given that you paid fir your parking, get them to cancel this. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Thanks for this. I will complain to the landowner as I don't fancy getting any productive feedback out of a faceless parking firm with no concept of common sense.0

But in parallel, you need to make an initial appeal to the PPC, using the ready made template in the sticky (for IPC operators) to show that you have engaged in their appeals process.
Premier are mildly litigious and, should this go to court, you could be deemed 'unreasonable' by ignoring them at the outset of the dispute. This could lead to larger than normal costs being awarded against you, so do take this safety first, cautious initial step. All explained in the sticky.

I initially questioned the charge and supplied proof of my ticket purchase but they have overlooked all the evidence I provided thus far taking a 'by the book' approach rather than a reasonable and mature stance. As there is no option to talk to someone I will need to try a different route.0

Likely they would blow you out in bubbles, and at worst, distract you into saying something to your detriment - and they record their calls. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. However, I put into the machine an incorrect car registration.
Did you? Are you sure this was your fault/error, you actually put in your other car's VRN?
Or do you mean there was a missed key/number? I recall that Premier threads have pointed out before this isn't the fault of the consumer, but the machine - there are machines which omit the first digit of the VRN too often to be coincidence.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I recently changed cars and accidentally put my old reg in. However, I have proof of sale of the old car so any semi intelligent person can see this is a genuine error. The simple fact is I still paid to park my car, parked in a marked space and returned within the allotted time. Surely this is suffice?0

Unfortunately intelligence, common sense, logic, understanding all disappear out of the window when their only purpose in the world is to scam money from you.
No amount of explaining to the PPC will make a blind bit of difference, they've managed to trip you up and are rubbing their hands awaiting your cheque.
You have no chance in appealing to the better nature of the PPC (they don't have one) nor in appealing to the IPC (they back the PPC in almost every instance).
The only way you will get this killed off at this stage is via a landowner cancellation, or in due course by a judge (if the PPC takes it that far - they have 6 years to do this).
So your options now are:
1. Pay it - but no one here advises that
2. Try to get a landowner cancellation - recommended
3. Ignore everything for the next 6 years, unless you receive a Letter Before Claim or real court papers - a legitimate strategy that thousands of motorists in the same position are successfully following. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Fancy my chances with the landowner cancellation. Have been in contact. Would you recommend me contacting them via social media as well, as this often seems to get results?0

Often Facebook or Twitter criticism/complaint can see organisations jump quickly - but there's no guaranteed formula. Use every method available to you to exert pressure on the landowner. Best done politely, but assertively. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum.
