How long do solicitor searches usually take?

Options
Suspect it's a how long is a piece of string sort of question but just incase it is not ;)

We had a letter from our solicitor a little over 2 weeks ago, and I just wondered how long to expect to wait until we hear back about them.

Thanks.

I've also been advised up to 4 weeks. Some comeback as quickly as 2 weeks though.

It will depend on the specific local authority.

Some areas will be 3-4 days, I heard of one place in Dorset recently that are taking 3 months.
