esa assessment again

I've been on esa a few years, incapacity before that.

I'm in the support group and January received a letter from atos health assessment saying to fill in questionaire and I may need assessment asking me to send documents which will support my case. In March received letter stating my esa will increase in April and November 2017.

I thought well they know my history, have enough evidence to support my case, mayor I don't need an assessment now.

I've just received another letter them saying the dwp would like to see me for an assessment.

Is this because i appealed my pip which is completely different from esa or is it standard procedure?

My last esa assessment was just under 2 years ago.

They have enough evidence of my problems. Dr reports, meeical history etc...

The March letter would be the annual uprating letter, so not related to your reassessment. As Penitent says, everyone is reassessed at some point. Have you submitted medical evidence with your claim?

An ESA award is not indefinite, you will be reassessed to make sure only those who are either physically or mentally unfit for work still are.

Actually, unlike PIP, ESA is an indefinite award and you get it for as long as you're entitled to it.

I have never seen an ESA indefinite award. The maximum as far as I know is in fact three years!

    Bit confused by your thread.

I refer to emboldened text as above.

First, as far as I am aware, you will no longer receive an ESA form from Atos. They were removed from providing ESA services by the DWP several years ago following acromonious headlines. If you received correspondence from a DWP contractor then it will likely have been from CHDA, a subsidiary of Maximus UK - DWP's current scapegoat; sorry, their appointed contractor.

Second, unless I am mistaken, ESA payments will not increase in both April and November 2017. As you are in the Support Group you will receive a nominal increase (~35p) in your weekly allowance as of April 2017 and as detailed in the link below:

Not sure under what circumstances you are entitled to an increase in November 2017, but I doubt said increase is being universally applied to all those in the ESA Support Group.

This 'Increase' refers to the £10 Christmas one off payment at a guess.

...and entitlement is confirmed by periodic assessment.
