Parking charge from 2014 - ignored - now received letter before referral for legal

Hope someone can offer advice
Received parking fine issued by Anchor Parking in Oct 2014.
followed advice as per the posts on here and the letters stopped coming. Today I have received a letter before referral to court action. I am aware that since 2014 the law may have changed - can anyone offer advice as to where I stand now. Given that more than 2 years have passed I find it incredulous that they have written again - is there a time limit?
FYI - the fine was for parking overnight at a tram station, the car park has now changed to allow overnight parking a

This land is probably covered by bye-laws, read this.

Anchor parking? Do you mean Care Parking - a trading name of Anchor security services?
  • Yes sorry it's anchor security t/a care parking but the letter has come from DRP
I followed the advice given here last time and thought it had all gone away. Can't believe they are chasing after more than 2 years!!

But parking firms are sending letters re cases from as far back as 2011, so this is nothing different. It's a DRP letter so follow this forum's (repeated every day and covered in the sticky thread) advice about debt letters. And laugh at them.

  • Thanks coupon mad. Given the time I was unsure as I thought that the law had changed since the ticket was issued and I was concerned that they might now be able to "get me".
Has the law changed or is it more scaremongering from this unscrupulous companies?

laws change all the time but there havent been any changes since POFA2012 , in 2012 for the most part

the CRA2015 came in a couple of years ago but that encompassed a lot of previous laws

the government has been dragging its feet for 2 years on changing some aspects of this sc@m industry

there have been court case rulings in the meantime and usually the DCA letters refer to them , as opposed to actual laws

like the BEAVIS case for example

debt collectors can and should be ignored

it wont have "gone away" until 6 years have elapsed

ps:- tram stations are covered by bylaws, so the TOC had 6 months to try a court case in the magistrates court

Care parking are unlikely to try an MCOL as in theory railway land is not covered by civil laws due to bylaws being in force, especially if this was METROLINK

put METROLINK into the forum search box to read up on it
