Euro car parks invoice...

Hi all, I have read the NEWBIES thread about ECP and their fines but I am still unsure how to proceed! I wonder if you helpful lot could help me out! Today I received a dreaded ECP park charge notice of £75.
Firstly, I received my charge from a pub car park, I didn't pay at all as I didn't see the signs (the signs are there though for sure, it was just me being unobservant) and I assumed that as a customer of the pub their car park would be free! Obviously not! I only stayed for an hour. Does this fact make appealing even an option for me as I don't really have a leg to stand on? Or, do I falsify an appeal as I genuinely am not in a financial position to afford this fine as I am a very poor medical student!
Secondly, if I decided to go down the ignoring route, what are the chances of them genuinely prosecuting me? I am tempted to just ignore ignore ignore but equally am very scared of going to court!
Many thanks guys

The newbies FAQ thread tells you exactly what to do and when to do it!0

The ECP appeal section on their website are asking for Name, Address etc with an asterisk, meaning I cannot submit my appeal unless I fill in these details. Do I fill in these details with the ones they've provided on the PCN they've sent me?0

If the pub has a Facebook or Trip adviser page write some very harsh stuff on it, it could seriously affect their profits. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

Are the details on the PCN not your correct details?0 -

Of course you do.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You fill in your dad's details, the PCN is addressed to him, it's nothing to do with you. and they clearly already have his details.0 -

Yes of course. That's what we mean by 'appeal in the name of the registered keeper' (not the driver). This is his appeal but you can submit it as if you were him (in his name) if he's happy with that. It is the likely way to win at POPLA in the end.PRIVATE 'PCN'? Received this after I sent the template message to euro car parks:
'Appeals received with full and concise information will ensure that your parking charge notice is placed on hold
The appeals procedure can take up to 35 days from receipt to process and you will be informed in writing ONLY to the address provided (not email)
If you have not supplied any of the following information we cannot process your appeal:
Full Name
Full Postal Address
Parking Charge Notice Number
Vehicle Registration Mark
If you fail to supply the correct and complete information your parking charge notice will not be placed on hold, the prompt payment discount will be affected and if the parking charge notice remains unpaid it may be passed to a debt collection company.
Thanking you in advance
Regards
Customer Services'
Interesting how they can threaten debt collection so quickly? I also hope the appeal gets accepted as I was as vague as giving, 'Mr (my surname!)' as the full name!
If I haven't received a reply in writing when I'm nearing the end of the 14 days where I'm offered to settle for a lower price, how confident can I be in the POPLA appeal being successful as obviously I'd take the £45 over £75 if the appeal doesn't work!0
