Unable to log on

Help
I downloaded the Spyware and pest catcher from the freebies board last week and since then whenever I try to use the PC it wont let me enter my password. When I click on my password it says 'logging off' What have I done? I cant get into the PC as there is no desktop showing.
I am using my darling Mums PC to do this as I am having terrible withdrawal symptoms no PC for 3 days HELP please please please and thank you in anticipation. I am totally not technical Thanks

Can you boot into 'safe mode'? For help on booting into safe mode, see this thread.

If you can boot into safe mode, then goto to add/remove and see if you can remove any software you installed recently.

Also, can you post the link to the software you downloaded?

If you have XP or ME do a System Restore to a point prior to the date you got the problem.

If you can boot into safe mode it will give you the option to either continue with safe mode or go to System Restore.

Choose the latter.
