Opodo Free Cancellation

On Opodo's website there is a box which states:
"Why book Opodo? Free cancellation on most routes and airlines!"
I understand this to mean that eligibility for free cancellation is determined so that people booking a certain route/airline are given free cancellation. I called their customer service, but they tell me that my reservation doesn't have free cancellation, even though the exact same flight does if you were to book it now.
Ultimately, my question is how can they offer free cancellation for certain routes/airlines but in reality it's not offered for certain routes/airlines, or surely everyone on that route/airline would be eligible?
I just don't see how else that can be interpreted - I understand that different customers can be offered different deals but I feel like their offer is fairly catch-all. I don't really understand what's ok and what's not which is why I'm posting here

Airlines typically charge a premium for a fully flexible ticket and will offer various ticket types on each flight. If you think you might need to change or cancel a flight then purchase a ticket that offers that, paying the higher price it will cost. Your travel insurance should cover you for many other circumstances which might lead you to cancel.0

The cancellation rights for your ticket would be detailed during the booking process. What did they state?0

Are you referring to the right to cancel a ticket for change of mind on day of booking under this policy?

It says that the amount of time you have to exercise this cancellation service is shown when you search for flights.0 -
not everyone pays the same, multiple sites sell the same tickets all with different prices and terms. You need to check the terms you signed up to when you bought the tickets.
Like hotel rooms, on Booking.com you can book a room cheaper if you don't want cancellation rights, cancellation come at a price.0
