thank you for replies. I believe I should have a document stating that that property is mine and I have payed £xxx on that date. I am happy with the keys also, but what if someone comes and says...get out of the house cause the house it s mine now.? :)

The title documents and the title plandefine what is conveyed in the contract. These are the most useful documents. Even so, many owners don't read them or understand them, but leave 'that sort of thing' to their solicitor.

    More fool them!

All modern transactions are recorded and held digitally at the Land Registry, so you are perfectly safe, short of a zombie apocalypse.

You can also add a rider for free on your LR documentation, so that they alert you if anyone attempts to alter them.[STRIKE] Someone will be along to give you the link.....I've lost it![/STRIKE]

In that case it's not the contract you want, it's a copy of your title. The contract just says that you will be paying £xxx on a date, it doesn't confirm to anyone that completion took place.

Though I've no idea why your solicitor can't be bothered sending you a copy of your contract.

That will take a few weeks (?) after completion for the Land Registry to update the title.

Once you have completed the purchase your solicitor will normally lodge it with us within a few days although that cna be longer if other details are needed.

Once submitted to us the current average for a normal purchase of a registered title is 7 working days providing everything is in order.

Your solicitor will usually send you a copy of the title with your details to confirm everything has been done.
