Morning all
The sun is shining but my that wind is bitter.
Managed to get an emergency appointment for this afternoon with my dentist. It's very strange as the filling is in tact but the tooth around it has snapped. I'm just glad I could get in.
Only general pottering today and I don't know what tea will be but I may only be able to have soup. Well off to do something, staring with emptying the DW.
TA sending good vibes for MrTA.
Lainey please don't worry about bringing the thread down, we are here to support you.

Afternoon ((((((((((hugs))))))))))) if you need one.
We have chucked in our holiday after 5 nights, we just could not hack it any more. I am exhausted just getting the stuff ready to go, so we have decided that from now on it will be an hotel.
We drove home through rain, sleet, hail and snow........0 -

That's such a shame after all the planning and prep you did! Was it the weather? I long gave up self-catering as not much of a holiday so you're not alone.
I've had a strange sort of day. Very quiet at college as the group all got on with their report writing or playing on FB and ignoring the five week deadline! Not my problem... Then I met up with my friends and drove for a lunch in a wee cafe by Loch Sween followed by cakes and coffee in their cottage. Picked up their car too which they had left last night after their dinner out.
All day I though I had lost / had stolen some money from my phone case. I fretted and worried about for ages, finding it difficult to believe that any of my truculent teens would steal but coming to the conclusion that no-one else was around. Just a wee while ago I turned out my work bag and found I'd stashed it in a pocket there.I'm so relieved a) that it wasn't stolen or lost and b) it wasn't any of my group. It's not my money even so I'd have had to replace it.
I collected a small painting I had 'commissioned' (asked for) last year and am so pleased with it. It's only taken since last August but the chap is a friend and his work is so good. Haven't even taken it out of the car yet as I'm so tired.

Evening Everyone
Glad you found your money Gers, there's nothing worse than wondering if anyone has taken it.
Good choice on the vacuum Speky, hope your leg recovers soon.
Not long to go now HH
Sorry to hear of your bad news Tiredmum.
Shame about your holiday csarina, you deserve to be treated to an hotel from now on.
I've been waking up quite early in the mornings so have been going for a walk before work, must say I do feel better for it. I have also been for a short swim after work -I look like a barrel floundering about!
Dinner is roast veg with salmon - hope it's ready soon.
Take care. XX0 -
Evening everyone
Not had chance to post much but have been reading most days. Work has been busy so get really tired with all the travelling to and from, sometimes 100 miles each way.
Dh ran the London Marathon at the weekend. He had trained really hard, but ended up with a knee injury round mile 12, he did finish it but really struggled. It was hard work trying to follow him on public transport to see him at various points. He has raised quite a bit though for a local Hospice. Some of my friends came down Saturday so I met up with them Saturday afternoon and we all went out for food & drink after on the Sunday.
Os today not much as was working the afternoon/night. Will need to vacumn & clean tomorrow when I get back.
Tiredmum - sorry to hear your sad news, sending condolences to you.
Csarina - such a shame about your holiday, I do think you deserve a hotel.
Redruby - hope work is not too bad.
Speky - I have a dyson, it's heavy but good. Hope your leg improved.
TA - hope Mr TA results aren't as bad as you think.
Lainey - we are here to support you/listen as you want.
Jackieo - I can throughly recommend North Yorkshire, my uncle used to have a farm next door to fountains abbey, the barn I used to play in is now part of the educational centre and I can see my uncles former house from the footpath. As snoozer says it's a lovely place definitely worth a visit. Ripon is nice as is Skipton, Pately Bridge & Harrogate to mention but a few.
Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care.0 -
We have always has SC holidays since the children were small. Somehow packing our caravan to go away was never a chore, but this time packing to go away in a static was exhausting. The last time we stayed in an hotel was in France in 1997!! and that was just a weekend. We have used travel lodges quite a bit, but the last one we went to in York was diabolical......someone suggested we try Premier Inns, they do a breakfast...... hmmm......
We liked to be able to do as we pleased which is a bit more difficult in an hotel or B & B. However we will give it a try.0
