Advice on getting a refund for private medical appointment not yet had

Options
Can anyone help me please? My elderly Mum has booked a consultation at The London Eye Hospital but now wants to cancel and get a refund (she had to pay up front). What are her rights please? I'm normally pretty clued up on this stuff but I cannot find any information anywhere.....!
Many thanks in advance.

Was it booked online or by phone, it may be covered by the CCR's which gives a 14 day cancellation period as a service. If the appointment was made in person the it depends on the T&C's.

A bit more info and a link might help.
  • Thanks for your reply. Mum made the appointment by phone last Friday.

Generally there is the right cancel a service contract made at a distance.
That right is provided by The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

In my opinion Regulation 27 of the CCRs tells us that those regulations may not apply to your situation.

But as others have said... no harm in asking.

What did they say when she booked it? That's generally where they would go through any cancellation rights. Or appointment information through the post - has she had that yet? How soon is the appointment?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
