We are in a council property and they have to by law put a new boiler in. As part of this they have ordered a asbestos survey. Our concern is what happens if they find asbestos, how do they remove it, will it mean taking up carpets etc? Does anyone have any experience of this?

Asbestos probably in boiler flue
Maybe in artex
Best case you go out for the day , worse case out of property for a few days
Carpets won't need to come up , ceiling normaly left alone as not a problem unless you cut into itEx forum ambassador

So the chap came and did the survey, he took little samples around the house including loft and said they will be sent off of testing. Really hoping everything will come back fine.
Do you know where asbestos is normally found, i'm thinking in walls, floors and boilers?0 -
No experience myself, but you'll get more responses if you put a more specific thread title.. even just 'Asbestos survey'0

Depends how old your house is. Many council houses in the 1960s had asbestos in the loft insulation, boarding off of cupboards, soffits, gutters etc etc.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0
