so the surveyor came to my property last Tuesday.
My solicitor has everything he needs and I am going to rented accommodation so no change.
The buyers are also in rented no change.
Any ideas on how long you would expect this to take.
Estate agents says mortgage offer should be done this week if Surveyor went out last week.
Why does it take so long??

For the mortgage, or the process in general?
1. Solicitors/lenders/estate agents all deal with many sales/purchases at a time.
2. Nothing is ever as straightforward as it seems.
3. Lots of communication between solicitors is still often done by post.
4. Not everyone turns things around straight away.
Average transaction takes 12 weeks from offer to completion. Anything quicker is considered fairly quick.
Took 3 weeks for the surveyor to get my survey to me last time - despite much chasing. There were many lies from them.2024 wins: *must start comping again!*0
