Hello all.
Well I made it through the day although I'm played out now :rotfl:.
I was at DD's just after 7.30 am and got home about 4pm, but I haven't had a minute to myself as my DGD has been in charge all day. I've lost count of the times I went up and down the stairs carrying dolls, Sylvanian families and play food. Never mind I get to do it all again on Thursday . I'll be glad to go on holiday for a rest !
While I was out DH cleaned the cooker and the kitchen floor, cooked corned beef hash for tea and hoovered downstairs. Best of all he said he missed me.
Karcher if you want to rant, vent or just speak your mind we are all here for you.
Tiredmum sending healing vibes to your friend. I hope he will be ok.
Enjoy your evening everyone

Hi chums eventful day today in my sojourn to the north
First we went and got my beloved ginger nuts (cn't do without those ,no matter what:)) Then it was off to Dunham Massey which has a very nice visitors centre, and a decent coffee and cake selection, as one needs strength to walk around admiring their valuble treasures
:):)
An excellent house with some very helpful volunteer guides. The story of the 7th Earl and his two 'wrong side of the tracks ' wives was very good ,but sad as the Cheshire society wouldn't accept her even though her OH was dripping with wealth.Brilliant silver collection and that alone is worth seeing.even had a couple of baby's potties in solid silver
now you really are loaded if you can sit your little ones down on solid silver po's
It felt like a proper lived in house though, and although the Earl and his wife withdrew from society because she wasn't accepted apparently they had a very happy marriage, sadly they had no children which is what he had really wanted a nice loving family around him as he had missed out on it as a child by losing his parents at an early age and being brought up by strict guardians .
Loved the house and all the artifacts though .
We then drove to Quarry Bank Mill, which was very interesting and had lots of information about the social history of the Greg family and how the workers were treated at the mill. Wasn't impressed by the hot food on offer ,seemed vastly overpriced for what it was , so we had more tea/coffee and cake instead
Then late afternoon we drove to Alderly Edge to have a look aroundeven the charity shops were expensive
Window shopped in the jewellers where rings were on offer at £32K and second hand watches were around £6.5KHow the other half lives eh
after deciding that we were quite happy being on the poorer spectrum
we came home to a HM curry and rice that cost for the two of us around £4.00.
Us pensioners know how to push the boat outBut I don't envy the WAGs of Cheshire and I'm quite happy to be a spectator of their antics, we did see a good few parading around, and when it started to sleet they took to their heels and their Lamborghinis and legged it .Perhaps their fake tan might run
Onwards and upwards and tomorrow will be another adventure no doubtGreat time is being had by us both though
Cheers everyone
