    She's a basic rate taxpayer with a CS pension.


    Are you thinking of opening an additional SIPP for her?

    Why not if you are hitting LTA issues?

    Even as a BR taxpayer she would benefit from the 25% TFLS when you accessed it and it could be used to delay taking the CS benefits and avoiding the reduction involved if accessed early (assume it is a DB as opposed to a DC scheme).

    Trust & confidence needed that you will stay together possibly but even if the worst came to the worst assets would be disposed equitably anyway.

    (Un)fortunately she's 5 years younger than me so by the time she could start to draw it down i'd be 62.
