Hello,
So I accepted a motgage offer. Signed the deed and sent that back to the solicitor and now I am about 10 days away from completion date on a shared ownership property. I am chasing my mortgage advisor about different types of insurances that may be required and also awaiting a response from the solicitors about what's next. I have 2 questions if anyone can spare a minute
1) what insurance could hold up the purchase and which ones are add ons that my mortgage advisor is just trying to sell me.
2) with 10 days to go what should I be asking my solicitor (at the moment I have been asking for updates etc) any thing i should be making sure has been done?
Thank you for any advice, I am a first time buyer kinda out-of my depth abit and need some direction if possible.

In relation to the insurances question, the only insurance which is compulsory for you to have is buildings insurance. Whilst it is important to have other insurances, such as income protection, or life and critical illness cover, they are not mandatory and not the condition of any mortgage. Other types of insurances can sometimes be required, and your solicitor will advise you if necessary.0
