Re tasks you need to learn how to manager your manager - work out how long you think each task will take you/your staff and ask for guidance on prioritisation. Be mindful though that she may expect things to be done quicker than you (she might have a point/she might not). Be calm and talk it through.

There are really a number of possibilities - it could be that she does have it in for you, or she might think you can do more, or she might think you are not competent as a manager? Don't think you given us enough information to base it on.

My manager has just accused me of the things that the employee told her but not listened to me or asked about it. All of heard is my manager saying it's all my fault.

She also has given me a load of tasks with unreasonable deadlines as I only work 21 hours p/w. I have also tried to speak to her about this but again fallen on deafs ear. Over the last 2 years my work has doubled but yet she wants to more and more tasks on top.

I am an organised person and know exactly what my tasks are and how long they take to complete.

I have actually asked her to stop picking on me but she hasn't listened.

Anyway now taken advice from the union and explained exactly what has happened and what's been said by all parties. I also have this documented too.

The new hire would probably have written the same about you. What one sees as helpful and reasonable, another may see as bullying and unreasonable.

There has been a complete breakdown in communication at all levels. I'd take this as a time to look at your own conduct as well as building a better relationship with your manager.

I do my job well and she has been very happy with me till all this came about with this employee.

I prepare 70 set of accounts each month (was 30 when I started) along with variance reporting. The preparation is manual and have to cut and paste info together as my system doesn't allow me to run the report I need. Have looked into getting a customised report but the version we have doesn't allow it. I have for an upgrade to be looked into but she won't spend the money so I spend most of week preparing them. But before that I have to ensure that all income and expenses are processed as well as other items. Eg we have 60 odd credit cards and most of these are not received without having to chase them up, cash expenses and mileage. Then I check income to ensure the invoice has been to the customer when it's time etc.

I then have to do all the reconciliations, returns for funders, cash flow etc. I also work with the budget holders if they have any queries on their accounts. I also have to fit in supervisions with staff.

Then my manager asks to do tasks on top and when she does, she gives it to me at 12.30-1pm and it's expects to be finished before I finish work that day (2pm).

You don't have to convince us that you are a good worker - you need to focus on your manager. If she is giving you work that you feel you don't have time to complete then explain to her.

Thanks for all the advice has been helpful.

Ye I will try to learn. Most folk in the office do find her difficult to work with as well. She even asked my staff member if 'do you think I am a bully?' That's pretty unprofessional.
