From what was said I think they didnt expect to find anything they liked so weren't in any hurry
OK looking back at what you've written (from the buyers info, not blaming you) you've [posted that they (a) didn't need to sell, (b) it was preferable to sell, (c) needed to sell. !!!
I'd just put it back on right now, this afternoon, let the EA know you'll still sell to the original "buyer" but they need to get the process started and be clear it will stay on sale until exchange as you have been let down by them already.
If the buyer is serious they will pull their finger out and get it done since they could beat anyone else in a race to exchange, if they aren't serious at least you know where you stand and are well rid. And my guess is, they will turn out to be a time wasting dreamer, but one way or the other you'll find out.0
