Will pregnancy affect my IB award?

I just saw the thread on getting Incapacity Benefit for illness during pregnancy, but my situation is slightly different.

I have been on Incapacity Benefit for a mental health condition since 2001. I have also got a slight physical disability which may/may not have contributed to my overall qualification for IB. I was reviewed by a DWP doctor in 2003 and awarded IB at the long-term rate until september 2008.

I have since become pregnant & am expecting a baby on 3rd Sept. Should I have told my local DWP office about my pregnancy, and if so, will it have any bearing on my current entitlement to IB?

If you are expected to work while pregnant it follows you can be sick while pregnant also.

I would still inform them personally as most of these things tell you to inform them of any changes in circumstances. Also there might be other benefits such as the Surestar maternity allowance which you may be entitled to & this is worth around £500 if I remember correctly.
