Hi. Do you know if you need an alcohol licence to give out free glasses on alcohol free wine? I'm thinking of running an exclusive ladies shopping evening in my shop.

No. Indeed assuming you don't give it to kids/aren't an off license/don't charge you may be able to give away the real stuff0

Having said that, when I was last in need of alcohol free wine, the situation was that it wasn't actually alcohol free, merely vv low alcohol, 0.5% I believe. So, depending on your rationale for not serving proper wine, you may do better with a posh alcohol free punch or juices.Signature removed for peace of mind0

I've had a search to try to find a UK source of when a drink become alcoholic. Doesn't ginger beer when traditionally made contain a little alcohol? During prohibition in America drinks could be sold with 1% or so alcohol. It is quite possible that the UK legal limit is a little over zero.Having said that, when I was last in need of alcohol free wine, the situation was that it wasn't actually alcohol free, merely vv low alcohol, 0.5% I believe. As I understand it :
Alcohol Free is defined in the UK as containing no more than 0.05% alcohol.
Non-Alcoholic means it contains zero alcohol.
De-alcoholised, which I think is what wine will be, is defined as containing no more than 0.5% alcohol.0
