Laura Ashley

Has anyone had problems with Laura Ashley. I bought two sofa's from them a year ago and as you would expect they are not cheep.

Anyhow, I have been unhappy with the cushions as following their care instructions which say I should plump them once a week they still stay very flat.

You cant even say cushions really what they use is a pillow much like you have on your bed to stuff the cover.

They sent out someone to look who said, its what you get nowadays with mass produces sofa's and needed to take them out of the covers once a week and spent 10 minutes on each working my way around the edge pulling "teasing" the two sides apart to get the shape back.

This advice works but 40 minutes a week (4 cushions) doing this is ridiculous!!

Laura Ashley are really bad with Customer Service, telling me I have had someone call so there is nothing more they can do (even though he said how poor the sofas really are!) to not returning phone calls, not answering letters and being very rude on the phone.

I now know they were on Watchdog for the very same. I don't intend to let this drop, their latest offer is to meet me "some" of the way towards new foam cushions which I have to get the quotes for.

Basically has anyone else had any poor service from them of a similar nature and what happened?

Thanks Tony

My advice stear clear of Laura Ashley!!!!

So sorry to hear of your problems Tony, with Laura Ashley.

During the Christmas sale I bought some home acessories online. The customer service was bad,no one was rude but they had absolutely no idea of what was on stock and what wasnt. I contacted them after three weeks of waiting and different staff gave different answers, finally I cancelled the order altogether. There were no replies to emails either. But the number of calls I made and the lenghty wait in the queue,I decided I would never shop at Laura Ashley online again.

Thanks, your right they have no clue what good customer service is, when you pay their high prices you expect a good service but not with Laura Ashley you don't

    Update,

After months of getting noware, getting letter after letter saying the matter was being given high priority (all letters were the same standard letters) I got a call from customer relations to say they were sorry for not dealing with thing sooner and they were going to send me a cheque for £190 to cover the cost of replacement foam cushion inserts.

Went straigh out and ordered them and they are now fitted and 100 times better and cheque arrived yesterday.

My OH is a decorator and says his heart always sinks when people tell him they've bought really expensive paper and so it will be dead easy to hang - and then they announce it is Laura Ashley  Actually, I haven't heard him complain recently - have Laura Ashley stopped producting paper? :p

Tony. Glad you get your cushions sorted with Laura Ashley.

We had the same problem and they kept telling us we had to plump them up. I kept complaining and they have now replaced the 'soft' polyester ones with a firm sort of foam. Much better.

But they sent the same soft ones twice and I had a pile of these cushion pads. Eventually passed them around the family and to the charity shop.

We had the same problem with a Derwent sofa from John Lewis. they replaced them fairly quickly with firmer ones then the foam split.!

They weren't so quick in replacing them blaming us for wear!

    Eventually got it sorted.
