Old Style Daily thead. Mon 24Th April 2017

Options
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

    Morning all,

Glad it's Monday. Things are a bit frosty in my house... My fault entirely.:)

Slept well, no interruptions and my bladder behaved.

All is well, Men gone to work and the hounds are snoring peacefully next to the bed.

    I love Mondays.

    Onwards and forwards

    Have a great day all

The sun is shining again but it's quite cold, I'm quite getting used to having the washing dried outside!

Lovely weekend, gardening, allotment and a huge bike ride yesterday - I'm a bit achy but not as bad as I thought I would be although I didn't sleep terribly well.

    Gers - enjoy your visitors.
    Hope you're feeling brighter karcher.
Sounds like you're having fun JackieO, I went to bury market last year and really enjoyed it, the banter was fantastic.

Meeting friends for tea then a walk if the weather behaves. Have a good week. Take care. XX

    Have a good day everyone.

Nice bright day here but very cold, we are all up and getting ready to go back to work :( to say I don't want to go is an understatement ! I have so enjoyed this time off.

Yesterday we cut the front hedge it looks much neater now we just trimmed it back but in the winter once the birds have stopped nesting we are going to give it a good cut, the garden it looking really nice atm I just wish I had more time to give it.

Not sure about dinner tonight but I will have a rummage in the freezer after this I am sure there is some mince in there so it might be a spag bol.

Right better get on have good days all xx

Good morning, we have showers here and it is decidedly colder so the washing will have to go on the indoor rack.

I'm about to get ready for work, trying to motivate myself. I'm doing something nice today, at least for half an hour I am, so that's a good motivator.

I slept poorly again, woke up from a nightmare but can't remember exactly what it was, fortunately.

Hope everyone has a good day, and that the rain stops!
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

    Good morning everyone.

Bright and cold here. So far no horrible weather, yet. My visitors are going across to Arran today so I really hope it stays fine for them.

Think I'm nursing a cold, felt physically 'down' yesterday so withdrew to bed in the afternoon with two paracetamol and a flask of tea! Am feeling better today.

Yesterday morning I did another washing load, that's four in two days, a minor record for me. I had assorted jumpers and pyjamas needing just a quick wash so bunged in my two towels too. All out on the line and dried in double quick time.

Today I have emails to write, long overdue, and reports to compose.

I hope everyone has a good and happy Monday.

IN EDIT: just a second after I posted this the rain began to batter against the windows.

Good morning chums ,bit grey and drizzly at the moment here, but its not a problem as we are going on the park'n'ride to Manchester today and hope to see the Lowry pictures etc.so we aren't in need of the sunshine ,although its supposed to clear up by lunchtime.

had a bice sleep last night and only woke up once which was good, the bungalow is nice and warm and the heating system is very goodI really can't find any fault in the place whatsoever very good value and a real home from home with evrything you can think of provided.

Last night we had a chicken salad and some chopped fruit and greek yogurt for dinner. We may eat out at lunchtime depending on what we can find in Manchester :)

Thanks for starting the day off Judi, and hugs to Karcher ,hope you are feeling a bit brighter today

    Cheers chums

    Good morning everyone :hello:

Currently listening to ELO's Mr Blue Sky though it most definitely isn't outside. We have a mackerel sky here but I think the sun is trying to shine through.

Just saw the girls off to school. DD14 is really struggling at the moment so I hope she manages to stay in school today. I think doubling up her dose of meds has hit her hard and she is very restless at night. We are seeing her psychiatrist on Wednesday so will see what he has to suggest. DD15 is moaning about going to school as well but she is just fed up and just waiting for her exams to start.

I had a lovely time at the restaurant yesterday. There were 23 of us and that wasn't all of our family. It was very nice to catch up with my little brother and his family (He's 30 now so not so little :)) and I was very proud of the children who came as they all sat nicely through the meal and behaved beautifully. All credit to their parents. The weather stayed nice and we got a taxi home where I had to go for a lay down as I was so full :D.

Back on the diet wagon again, I am loosely following Slimming World as there are so many good recipes around for it. I am making savoury mince with mini roasties for tea and a homity pie as I have lots of potatoes and leeks to use up. I am just waiting for the shopping to arrive and then once it's put away I will crack on.

Jackie, it sounds like you are having a lovely time with your friend. I have never been Up North but I would really like to go sometime.
Karcher, hugs for you, I hope you are feeling a little better today xx
Gers, I hope the cold disappears sharpish and you can enjoy your friends visit.
Judi, I hope things 'thaw out' for you today.

Well I hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, I am off to town later to pick up my prescription and my eldest daughter is coming over for a cuppa so I had better shift myself, take care xx
  • Morning all,

It's been a long weekend for me as early on Saturday I tore my left calf at football. Happened taking a throw in too! Honestly think I'm made of chocolate.

So my weekend was spent with it wrapped in ice and doing nothing. Frustrating.

Back to work though (office based) then I've a Spanish lesson tonight.

Moustache. Have a lovely day all.

The weather is nice down here in the south and i have the back door and front windows open. We went to the wedding on Saturday of some good friends of ours and had a wonderful time they had a live band Frankies Guys in the evening and they were fantastic
lots of dancing and fun was had
Sunday was spent ironing and thankfully all is now finished. We didn't have a roast as DH and I were on our own ,went to bed early as we were shattered and were woken by a text from DS as he was working quite a rough area on the club doors to say he had been sprayed in the face and that they had had a lot of people try to storm the gig and the riot police were now there and he didn't know when he would get to his sisters or if he would have to go to the hospital re his face/eyes luckily he let us know he had finally arrived there so just waiting for him to return home
Right better get on as still need to get the house back to my standard
Have a great day whatever you are up to x
