Blue Badge PCN on Double Yellow Liine

Options
Hello Folks,

Took my elderly father in law who has a Blue badge, and the family for a visit to Nandos for a meal at lunch-time.

Could not find the usual parking so parked on a stretch of Double Yellow lines with No yellow curb markings for at least two car lengths and then a dropped curb. I did display his badge and the clock.

On the opposite of the road, the yellow curb markings were marked in one car length size interval, which I knew we're not allowed to park, but due to the large gaps without curb markings, I thought it was ok.

Do I have grounds to appeal.

    They're no signs.

Our contravention is 'parked in a restricted street where waiting and unloading/loading restrictions are in force'

I saw the parking attendant as he was processing the ticket on his machine but he did not cancel it.

He told me that because there was a yellow curb markings that indicated no loading/unloading, and I replied there is a big gap without yellow curb markings, hence I parked.

If they don't want cars to be parked, they should have put yellow curb markings in one car length interval, just like the opposite side of the road.

OK, but are you sure no signs at all? Even if not near your parking spot.

I agree with what you are saying about a BIG gap with no kerb blips, if so you have a case. Also there must be a 'no loading' sign as well as lines.

Take it to pepipoo and win:

Most Council PCNs are rubbish IMHO and can be cancelled - it's just knowing how.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I could not see any sign, normally I look at yellow curb markings in yellow lines, to see if I can park. Due to the large gap, I parked.

Can you take pics of kerbs and general view showing no signs? Do this ASAP as you will need them for your appeal.
Councils are pretty fair when it comes to blue badges, Nottingham allowed our appeal when our blue badge was a few days out of date.
Be clear in your appeal that you examined the roadside carefully before parking.

Just received Notice to Owner, and trying to find out what are the rules of two curb chevrons on double yellow lines, in terms of length before they're marked with double curb markings.

As I have received a PCN for parking there with a blue badge. There was a big gap, over a car's length, so I parked. Normally they have double curb marking with less than a car's length interval. That indicates no parking at all even with a blue badge.

Have you taken this to PePiPoo as advised some weeks back? They really are the experts in your kind of case.
