I am trying to plan a large family holiday (32 people) for next year. Spain is the obvious choice and Costa Blanca being quite a popular chioce. Anywhere in the Med region though would be considered.
Has anyone ever done this and if so, can you provide some ideas?

I have booked quite a few over the years it started off with 8 just family, but over the years it grew to about 26 with friends wanting to join us. Mostly we went on all inclusive during the winter, cheap and cheerfull. We used to have a really good time, it was like a party every night without worrying who was buying the next round. The main problem was getting everyone to agree where we went, the travel agent said there were usually problems with large groups, bickering over free places, but we never had a problem, whatever free places we received, (sometimes as many as 2 in 10) I would split between everyone so we all paid the same, and there was never a problem. If anyone joined the booking at a later date, they had to pay the full amount unless the travel agent gave us a futher discount. The free place offers often changed when later editions of the brochure were published, so we could not get the extra discount the extra people would attract if they had booked in the first place. Usually most people were not too bothered where we went as long as it was a reasonable price, so we had a few suggestions, and went with the majority, it was just an extra holiday in the winter. When the tickets arrived I just gave them out and we all met at the airport. Not done it for a couple of years now, but one or two are asking about starting it again so may be will think about it. Good Luck with your efforts.0

This is when "self packaging" comes into its own. Most booking systems only accept bookings up to 9 adults or children. PHONE THEM. They will tell you how many seats there are on the plane. Always check the price for 1 and then check the price accending up to your Max. and book at the lowest price, first having got the price each over the phone for your max number of passengers.(remember you can normally deduct around a fiver EW for online booking)
Your accom. can be sources via

or

Transfers from airport
https://www.shuttledirect.com will lay on a bus for you to most places in Spain
Start lopking around October. You should get your flights under £100 each if you are on the ball and keep checking. The price of Accom is pretty constant so its the flights you need to concentrate on really.
Insurance- If you dont have annual policies then one of the links on this site should sort you out.
If you dont save £5 GRAND ill be amazed and disapointed0
