    I totally agree :D
  • Thanks Hidden, so excited about it all, I relax just thinking about relaxing on holiday :rotfl:!

Had to spend a bit today, £2.30 on a coffee which wasn't needed but helped me through some boring annual training, and 5.60 on work tights, which were definitely needed but managed to get 25% off by buying from TU at Sainsbury's as they have a deal on all clothes at the moment.

Work trip away for the day tomorrow, but will be able to claim fuel and food so will be spendy but can claim it all back. Working all weekend too with job 2, normally get fed but won't be this time which is annoying but I'm hoping I'll be able to claim back food spends! Will also have to pay for travel which will then be paid back to me in my salary so not until October . Have decided I'm going to quit job 2 once OH is home, too much stress juggling 2 jobs, and want my weekends back, but the money is useful for holiday saving and debt busting so it's a necessary evil at the moment!

  • Forgot to say as well that after complaining about not being able to make loan overpayments I finally got a response saying that the girl I spoke to on the phone was wrong, and crediting my account with £20 as a goodwill gesture. Not a lot but definitely better than nothing and a small overpayment! I'm not a complainer but think I should maybe do it more often now!

  • Day working away went well today. 300 miles done in total but will be able to claim fuel and food so not too bad. Popped in to see my bro and his lovely lady on my way home as it was on the way and i hadn't seen their new pad yet. Loved it, gorgeous old cottage with amazing period features and they are doing so much work to it (themselves so very MSE) so I'm sure it will look great when it's done. Ended up staying later than i had planned cos it was just so nice spending time there, but then ended up racing home to try and speak to OH. Have barely spoken to him since he went back coz he's been so busy at work, and then didnt manage tonight either so really gutted. House feels even more empty now after leaving family, and gutted I cut my family visit short to get home to speak to him and then didn't manage to. Fingers crossed we'll actually be able to speak tomorrow!

Bought some flowers and bubbles as a house warming gift but apart from that everything else was on expenses, and had tea cooked for me by lovely SIL so a day of highs and lows. Need to get to bed now though coz back up in 5 hours!!

  • Ugh have been terrible at keeping this up to date, mainly because Things are just so tight and I've been stressing about everything too.

Was supposed to work job 2 at the weekend but when Friday came around I was just so exhausted and overwhelmed with everything that I phoned up to cancel. That's £180 not earned, but on the plus side the house is now tidy, and I had some time to relax and regroup and not go into this week exhausted. I always said if job 2 started negatively impacting on proper job I'd quit so I think I need to seriously start thinking about that!

Low spend day today, £2.30 on a coffee which wasn't needed at all but was a welcome escape from the office ( this seems to be a theme now of buying coffees as a way of getting 5 mins away from work!!). Need to try and rein it in a bit.

Should be another low spend day tomorrow except for lunch which I m having with a friend who is working on my site tomorrow so will be nice to catch up. £50 left for the month (10 days- eek!!), plus need petrol so probably going to be tight and be some interesting food combinations. 2 days on expenses this week, and a friends wedding which I'm driving to so no costs bar fuel (probably £20 ish). Then quiet rest of weekend and bank holiday, so no plans to spend massively.

Roll on next pay day so I can update those figures! X

    Evening DTD,

So glad you managed to get a visit into your brother and his OH, house sounds lovely.

Sorry to hear job 2 is getting a bit too much but good that you could telephone and cancel if needs be. Re the coffee you're not on o2 by any chance? If so on the priority app theres usually a free cafe nero once a week. I used to use mine up when I worked in the town centre but don't go anywhere near now! Nice little freebie on Tuesday if you are xx

  • So i've been terrible at updating this- 10 weeks at last count and unfortunately things haven't got much better financially. Work has been horrendous so i've just been in survival mode with that, i almost got signed off with stress but have managed to haul myself back so just need to hang in there and hope my job hunting pays off. Then we had a bit of upheaval with OH's contracts which meant he was home for a little longer than we had planned or budgeted for, but he's gone back now, which is good for the diet and bank balance, but otherwise i'm missing him terribly.

In terms of updating the figures, holiday fund is now complete (well sitting in my savings account waiting to pay the final balance on Friday). We have saved and paid for the holiday in cash so it should be really positive, but..... i've had to rely on cards a bit more than i would have liked as a result of all my income being saved for the holiday, and OH being home longer than planned, plus a few weddings etc. that required hotels paying for.

I'm not regretting the holiday because it is so needed, and me and OH really need that quality time together after him working away for so long, but i need to work out a way now of reducing the increased cc debt as much as i can.

    Current standings:

    CC1 £3074.31
CC2 £28 will try pay this off with eBay sales by the end of the month.
    OD: £0 :D
    Loan: £12644.17
    Total: £15746.48

    Holiday Fund £1400/1400 :D

So debt is only about £310 less than when i started, and has gone up £780 since August. If i look on the bright side without the holiday it would have still gone down, but i need to focus my efforts now the holiday is paid for. Plus i have some big expenses coming up.

    Need to budget for:
-Christmas (some shopping done but more needed). Still not sure if OH will be home for Christmas so can't really plan ahead and get any food in or anything, so will have to see, otherwise will go to my parents house.
-Car insurance due on 24th December (Merry Christmas ). I'll obviously shop around and try and maximise cash back as usual.
-Boiler service- due in December, will push it until Jan but need to try and find a good deal
-New Tyres- not sure when they'll be needed but don't want it to take me by surprise, i do a lot of miles for work to reliable car is essential.

Think that's enough for my first update back, i'm trying to keep positive, so just need to knuckle down and try and start chipping away at those totals some more.

    DTD xx
