Another vote here for Thermos King Flasks. Keep drinks piping hot for hours.
I like to make my tea at the time rather than previously made in the flask and find that after several hours the water is still hot enough to make a decent cup of Earl Grey.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, I shall look those up and check out reviews as well before deciding.

One thing I meant to ask is what do most people do, make the tea (plus milk and sugar if taken) at home before setting off? Or keep the milk in a separate jar to add just before drinking? Does the latter keep it hotter longer?

    Thanks.

I usually keep milk separate - if I'm also taking cold drinks, it goes in with that. But, I've also taken milk granules before now - takes quite a bit of stirring!
  • Flask has the water in it for us and everything else separate easier to make to everyone's needs that way if I take the small one then it's black coffee for me only

If it's coffee, with milk. Tea, water and take milk and bags separately. Partly because I think tea doesn't taste very nice when it's been kept warm while coffee seems to be able to cope and partly because OH likes Yorkshire Tea with milk and I prefer Earl Grey without.
Various other fussy reasons too, but I won't bore people!

Can I jump on this thread to enquire about decent flasks with larger size cups. It's to take in the car for work and I want a proper size drink not one of those diddling little cups you have to keep refilling.
Had a great one of the market till I dropped it, so any replacement suggestions appreciated.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I've got a small stainless steel one from Morries, which cost about three quid. It has a flip up lid and a lip so you drink straight from it. It never leaks and keeps my tea warm for hours.

I have this one too, and it keeps hot drinks really hot.

if anyone is in the market for an insulated travel mug / single serve flask, I can heartily recommend the lifeventure brand. It holds around 330ml, will keep drinks piping hot and is very forgiving to bumps, knocks etc. I got mine from Cotswold outdoor, who often have them on multi buy offers.

On the flask front, I've never been disappointed by a thermos branded product. I've tried cheaper brands with varying degrees of success. Thermos is one brand I would willingly invest in.

    Thanks.

We make ours up in a jug first. Two teaspoons of coffee and two spoons of sugar for me.
One teabag for OH and milk.
