chips on bonnet
Just ordered my used Qashqai today, handover next week.
It had 2 small chips on the bonnet, which some has tried to fill in. Noticeable when you look over the body.
Dealer (main) said they will try polish these out.
Is it the correct solution to try polish these out, or should I have insisted for a full repair (I did ask at the time but he said would not be possible).
On reflection, have I been to soft with the dealer, or trust what they tell me "it will be done to high standard as best as possible"

Wait and see.
If it's not satisfactory then don't accept it0 -

would I still have that option? Is it worth asking dealer to ensure its protected so it does not rust in near future?
Due to collect it next Friday, so they have plenty of time to sort it out. Plus a light scuff alongside one of the doors (looks as if someone has scrapped something plastic)......
just hoping the Nissan care4 ethos is 10/100 -
You will certainly have the option not to accept the repair if it's not satisfactory! (They have agreed to repair it haven't they??)0

Is the door also marked down for repair on the agreement?0

It'a used car, so I would not expect it to be 100% perfect."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

They should be able to flatten out the paint on the stone chips so its less noticable.
I would rather a couple of stone chips touched in than a bonnet repainted.
It is not unreasonable for there to be a couple of stone chips on a used car.
It is not unreasonable for the dealer to NOT repaint the bonnet to resolve it.
If you wanted a "perfect" car, then i am sure the dealer would have happily sourced you a brand new one.0 -
yes as "side scuff".....it was a slight mark along the side...on reflection I would have expected a ex-Nissan owned car to be in a bit better nick.
"ex Nissan owned" could mean anything - demo car, management car, lease car, hire car, etc.
Likewise, it will be a USED car, so its not going to be blemish free - irrespective of who owed (?) it.
I'm in a similar boat by the way - worse actually - i've ordered a 2016 Passat TDI through my local VW dealer, sight unseen, off a spreadsheet of available cars. Its coming from VW UK and the dealer pitched it as being an "ex management" car, but god only knows who had it. I've an expectation that it will be relatively blemish free but likewise i know its not going to be perfect. I'd have needed to find another £8,000 or so to have an assurance of that.0 -

I realise that, but dealer always told me as part of sales pitch "all cars are in top condition being from Nissan owned"....
I was more concerned if the chip is not treated correctly, it could rust in the future. Would have expected this to be a very straightforward simple job for a main dealer. Will ask them for an update before I collect it.0
