Hello!
Thank you for taking the time to read his - I don't know where else to go for advice!
My husband fixes broken iPad and iPhone screens and he buys the replacement screens online. He's had no problems with the supplier until this week. One of the screens he ordered (he orders them with the cameras already attached to the screen) the camera didn't work. He rang them up to explain the situation and to ask for a refund in which they refused and said they'd put a credit on his account instead. My husband wants a refund as he's had to refund his customer. The supplier told him the only way he could get a full refund is to close his account! Is this right? They also said they wouldn't pay him back for return postage.
Sorry for me gabbling on!
Thank you in advance!

If that's so, then consumer protection legislation will not help him and he needs to look at the terms of the contract he has with his supplier.
If he were a consumer, during the thirty days following the purchase he could reject the goods for a full refund if they're found not to conform to contract.0 -
Whats wromg with getting a credit if he has an account and will be buying something for another customer ??make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
In B2B transactions credit for faulty goods are common. This is not a consumer rights issue, read the terms of the contract for your rights.0

Thank you for your responses - he's not a fully fledged business - he's just dipping his toe in the water to see if it will work out, so he's an individual, not a business.
He's only done 5 screens so far and he orders as and when he gets a job, so it might be a few weeks before his next phone screen repair, so the refund has had to come out of our own pockets, hence why we want the money back, not having it sitting in an account.
Where do you think we stand with regards to getting a full refund? Thank you all for your help!0 -

As they have already told you, you can get a refund but the account will be closed therefor you already have your answer.0 -

When is a business not a business.
He provides a service for a price. That's a business.
Would you be happy if the company you bought from turned round and said 'oh we're only just starting out, we're not a business, you can't have a refund this was a private sale' no. I think not.0
