Bus Lane 02 Peninsula Charges?

Options
Hi there

I accidentally turned into a bus lane when driving out of the 02 peninsula yesterday. My satnav indicated it was the turn I wanted. Confusing those roads!

Does anyone know if I doomed to be charged a PCN and how much that is likely to be?

Thanks in advance!

£130 if it was in the operational hours.
No one can tell you if you're 'doomed' or not, you'll have to wait and see.

What you see out of your windscreen takes precedence over what your satnav tells you.

And they want to add Sat Nav use to the driving test.

At least you have a licence, you would have failed the new test where you have to follow the satnav yet ignore it when it gives stupid instructions or fails to tell you what lane to be in.

I think driverless cars should also take the driving test :)

  • That's incredibly helpful thank you..... do you know, speeding, parking illegally or causing a car accident would also be sure fire ways to fail your test.

I am so glad for you all that you are perfect drivers and can enjoy my mistake.

It's nice o know there are such good people out there.

Precisely because of people like the OP not exercising common sense and blindly following the Satnav.

Generally this is not the forum to come for sympathy if you have done something ill advised.
Whatever your satnav said surely the bus lane was marked clearly?

The satnav wouldn't have known if you were driving a car, a bus or were on a pedal bike so it's can only give very approximate guidance and leave the important driving decisions to the person in charge of the vehicle.
This is why you occasionally hear about lorry drivers who get wedged under low bridges. The satnav couldn't tell if the vehicle it was installed in was 5 foot high or 15 foot high.
  • Again all I really wanted to know was how likely I am to be charged.

I feel sorry for you all that you feel you need to pass judgement on my driving ability. It really reflects your characters.

Finally, As I said before I am glad to hear you have all perfect driving records and have never sped or been implicit it an accident or indeed parked inappropriately which would have also failed you all at a driving test. Very well done you all.

I'm not familiar with the route but check if bus lane restrictions were in force during the time you entered the lane (signage will show the times they operate).

You will only be in the firing line if a camera was triggered and captured your plate.
