Special days out funded by Santander at sporting events

Last year I was bumped up to being a Select client at Santander. One of the promises from the rep I met was being sent "special days out funded by Santander at sporting events" through the mail/email.

I mentioned it on a previous thread and "don't hold your breath" was the main comment.

I didn't, and I haven't heard a thing from Santander. Was it just blowing smoke up my 123?

Anyone actually had one of these days out?

No. I probably wouldn't go if offered but I don't recall ever being offered.

Presume this is a draw or competition, unless you are seriously high net worth.

So depending on what was actually said its either a bit like being given a lottery ticket or a promise of corporate entertainment, I suspect it was very much the former.

No different to the Halifax prize draw virgin offers draw, I think you're expecting a bit much.

The way it was phrased it was "you can expect to get....." rather than any form of prize draw. Am sure it was puffing and nothing more.

I think Jessica Ennis-Hill has a Santander account and I've seen her at loads of sporting events!

Lewis Hamilton too, but sitting in a car could hardly be described as sport.
  • Surely if you have a named point of contact at the bank, ask them to sort you out with a day out?

Ask Santander for tickets to the Monaco GP. I hear Jenson Button has been given a McLaren F1 drive at this race. He would probably get as far sitting on a sofa with Rory and Jessica.

    Hi Jenson! ;)

And yes, opening a Santander account will be the only way a McLaren driver would get anywhere near the 1-2-3, other than when larking about of course....alonso-button-podio--620x349.JPG
