Adult Robins

Seen a very strange thing in my garden the last few days.
One adult robin feeding another adult...........
Very odd.
Both fully red breasted so definitely not an adult feeding a chick.
I presume it is a male feeding a female ??
Have had robins in our garden for 40 years & never seen this before.
Anybody know why they are doing this ??

It would be male feeding female, part of mating ritual, only watched it last night on TV programme about robins in Eden projectEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
