HELP required from Hastings Direct Representative

Hi Hastings team representative, please can I have an email or letter confirming the actual number of no claim discounts I have gained with my car insurance policy.

I have called and emailed and nothing back.

In May 2014 I gave you proof of 16 years from my last insurers AXA.
Now I have been with you for three years...

With Hastings:
Year 1 - 2014 to 2015 = 17 years
Year 2 - 2015 to 2016 = 18 years
Year 3 - 2016 to 2017 = 19 years

So by the end of my policy ending May 2017 I will have accrued 16 + 3 years = 19 years.

While I appreciate you go upto 9 years some other insurers accept higher NCDs hence my request for this information.

I would really appreciate your help. Thank you.

hastings do give you the corrected proof when you went to them with more than 9 years and want to leave

But you need to wait till your policy ends to get this.

Some may let you input more than 9 years but do they actually give you a bigger discount?

I put 9+ on one comparison site and then onto the main insurers site where i corrected it to 20+ and the premium actually increased, changed it back to 9 which is what the renewal will say anyway and its suddenly cheaper again.

Similar to adding a driver with several claims, decreaseds my premium on my long claim free record. Where is the sense?

It always worth keeping your own history and be able to provide multiple copies over different years if required. This avoids issues that can occur when say one provider only gives upto 6 years and another gives 9 etc.
