Lease Car Insurance Question

I took out an insurance on my newly leased car. The insurance documents state the following:

Legal Owner - LEASED
Registered Keeper - (Blank)
Main Driver / Policyholder - (My Name)

My leasing / Finance company wants their name to appear in the document. I spoke with my current provider (Hastings) and they seem to be confused as I got different response from different persons I spoke with. Since then I tried getting quotes from other other providers and got told they cannot get the finance company's name to appear on the insurance document. Can the experts please suggest some of the companies I can contact who can fulfill this request (to have lease company's name as owner / registered keeper) and also how common is it for the lease companies to request their name be included in the insurance document?

No reason at all why it can't be done. It makes no difference whether the lease company is the owner and keeper or Joe Bloggs as long as you've correctly identified the main driver.

Try a broker or speaking to a company directly (Direct Line insure mine similarly) rather than comparison sites.

Thanks Chris. I did put all details correctly so the policy is ok 'legally', however its just the lease company's demand that they want their name mentioned. I spoke again with HD and they again said this can be done and I will receive the paperwork "shortly".
