Best cordless vacuums/ best handheld vacuums

Howdy !
Hope you can help with the above . I will be moving into my new flat in a few weeks.
At the moment , I'm in rented accommodation . All well and good, except there is a corded dyson which I find a p I t a which doesn't like sucking things like fluff from carpets ( new tracksuit bottoms etc).

I was hoping to get a good cordless vacuum , and a separate handheld vacuum. I want separate items as it seems to me, having 2 seperate units is more effective , less likely to break and less fiddly iyswim .

Please advise

Thanks :)

A corded Dyson should always have loads more suck than the best hand-held, it shouldn't be struggling with fluff.

You might want to check and replace all of the filters on the Dyson before buying another vac - they do block up and need cleaning regularly.
  • Thanks jonesya :)
I forgot to mention, the dyson is the landladys. I'll have to buy a cordless vacuum for my new flat . I just don't think,it will be a dyson , unless somebody could tell me otherwise ..:)

Which model Dyson is it? Almost certainly a blockage or dirty filters, as above.
Mains ones have far more power than battery models.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • Thanks macman. :)
It's a d c 07. It has a hose with a brush, that's worse than useless, unless there's some kind of blockage . Maybe it has seen better days ?

As there was a sale on at beales where I bought loads for the flat,
    I went for a dyson . I think it's a v6 animal. I'll have to check .
I left it in store to be delivered with all the other stuff ordered.
    Busy day:)
