New to Sipp Help

Hi all, I seem to have finally got my head around setting up a s&s isa. Im really trying to get a hold of managing my finances correctly. I invested a lump sump into VLS60. And i still have a large pot for emergency cash in high paying current accounts. I was enrolled last year into a workplace pension but my employer pays the minimum amount which is next to nothing and i do not contribute anything more to that. I am 31 years old and i know i should but apart from that i have no other pensions. So i am now looking at setting up an Sipp and would appreciate any advice regarding doing this. Is it very similar to what i have just done in setting up a s&s isa? Do i pick a platform and a fund and set up a monthly direct debit? Im looking a debiting 15% of my salary into it. Also i use Halifax for my s&s Isa. Would they be a good provider for my Sipp to. HL seem to have a lot of good feedback. Thank you in advance, all your help so far has been much appreciated.
