Reclaiming package account fee success

For anyone thinking about claiming but aren't too sure just go for it.
I entered a claim on Tuesday via Resolver regarding a Lloyds account (I didn't even know you could claim these charges back) I held from 1991 to this day, I only had a packaged account from 1999 to 2010. The bank manager advised me to get one to help with a loan and then I just got stuck in it, I didn't use any if the attached insurances so it was really just a waste of money.
Lloyds called me yesterday and today to ask me a few questions and have agreed to refund me £2370 in the next few days, I'm absolutely delighted.
A huge thanks to MSE.com

Yup, it's definitely worth the small amount of time it takes. I got 9 years of fees refunded by Barclays a few weeks back after using Resolver from this site.0

Just want to say a massive thanks to the tools on this site! Pretty effortlessly I filled in the form and got directed to complaintresolver and sent the message to my bank... had a lady phone me 4 days later to get more information regarding why I believe the account was mis sold... and after 7 days of sending my initial email.. boom just under £1500 back in my account! Anyone with one of these packaged accounts... give it a go... you have nothing to lose.
I have had a packaged bank account for decades, am satisfied with it and have no intention of 'giving it a go'. It's people like you who make things more difficult and expensive for the rest of us honest folk.0 -

Haha. I have one too and I keep wanting to cancel it but I have had the account for 3 years and 3 years in a row, my car (3 different ones) has broken down on holiday (both here and abroad) and 3 years in a row, the travel insurance and road side assistance have been utterly wonderful, providing me with replacement vehicles so that I have not had to miss a beat of my holiday. So the money has totally been worth it. Dropped my phone last month, that reminds me, I should claim for that as well. Bargain for only £13 a month :-)0 -
hi I was mis sold bank package account a while ago. they said I had to in order to keep my overdraft. I have used the aa breakdown cover but not the mobile insurance or travel insurance because I'm not eligible. can I reclaim?0

If your case is that you could have kept your overdraft on the same terms with a non-packaged account, how will you demonstrate that?collysmudger wrote: »hi I was mis sold bank package account a while ago. they said I had to in order to keep my overdraft. If you've used at least one of the benefits this will weaken your case too, so you'll need to think carefully about how to present your argument - have a read through http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/reclaim-packaged-bank-accounts0 -
I had a package bank account with natwest for about 18 years. Filled in the form on resolver and used the option that I'd never been told there was a alternative free account which I hadn't. About 4 weeks later I got £2800 back. So happy I did this! Thanks to MSE x0
