Private medical insurance - Pre-existing?
[Deleted User]

Joined a medical insurance scheme a month ago. Not really private health but it pays out a sum for private appointments/dental/optical etc.
I noticed in the t+c is does not cover pre-existing which is fair enough. How do you define pre-existing though?
Is it when you, the patient, notice something, or when you are diagnosed by a health professional?
I've got a GP appointment next week for something that has been niggling for a few months. Obviously, GP is going to ask me when it first started and maybe will make a diagnosis.
Would this count as pre-existing months ago or when I see the GP?

Yes - existed from the time it presented.0

What it means by pre existing is that ,say for instance you have had a heart condition for the last 5 years, its not going to cover that.
Any NEW conditions you get it will cover, but anything already seen and noted will not be revisited for free.,Fully paid up member of the ignore button club.If it walks like a Duck, quacks like a Duck, it's a Duck.0 -
Seen and noted by doc?
Quentin - what is your take on this?0 -
Quentin has said from the time the condition presented, so that's when it started not when you get a diagnosis.0
