Getting to job centre with disability

I have a muscle condition which causes mobility issues. I'm currently out of work so have started claiming job seekers allowance. I went for this instead of disability allowance because i feel there are jobs out there i can do.
However i need to sign on every 2 weeks, the jobcentre is in a town 20 miles away, and the problem i have is i don't have access to a car at the moment so have to get the train. The train station is 25-30 min walk from my house (for me anyway) with another 10 minute walk the otherside.
This is extremely difficult for me, every step i take is painful as it is, after the walk to the train station it becomes agony, a trip to the job centre is leaving me with leg pain for days.
I don't think i can get to the job centre that regularly, especially as over time my legs will get worse.
What options are given for this? Are there alternatives available?

how do you plan to get to job interviews or get to work if manage to get a job?0

E-Bike would be ideal. Doesn't have to be new either.0

Claiming JSA doesn't stop you claiming PIP, which is the replacement for DLA.0

Have you considered claiming ESA instead? You would still be able to look for work without the pressure of fortnightly visits to the job centre. As Tellit01 says, you can still claim PIP while on JSA or ESA0

I admire the OP's view that he/she should be claiming JSA rather than ESA. However their location does show the problems for people, able bodied or otherwise, who live in rural areas and who rely on public transport.
The OP doesn't say whether the mobility problems are either new or worsening, but if either is the case they should consider making a claim for ESA assuming their GP with provide a medical certificate.0 -
i would try get PIP if you want to actively seek work (i think PIP is there, kind of "for people like you", specifically (?))
obviously don't be damaging you health etc / causing pain. pain can !!!! your psyche also, don't forget ?
also, i think the jobcentre (i know definately for ESA, but dunno 100% jsa), they have to make allowances for you (DEFINATELY can not do things that will cause you pain, regardless....).
so if you got a note from your doctor, detailing your problems, then you might be able to have to see them less (?)
also, a helpful job centre advisor may be prepared to have phone call interviews with you etc ?
i would definately have a word with your JS advisor (if nothing else, to see how compassionate they were...)
and also consider ESA, PIP.
esa work related is basically JSA, but once a month.... and they are supposed to not be allowed to "make you" go places etc.
you need support from medical professionals for esa though, so maybe not good if having pain commuting to the jobcentre, if your doctors isn't close either..... and you would like to find a permanent job.
(bare in mind, you can still find a job, whislt claiming esa / pip also, obviously keeping them informed of any changes)
